What is MyInvois?

MyInvois is the e-invoicing system run by LHDN, Malaysia's tax authority. A business submits invoice data to LHDN for validation before sending it to the customer. What is MyInvois?

MyInvois is the national e-invoicing system operated by LHDN (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri), Malaysia's Inland Revenue Board. Under MyInvois, a business submits invoice data to LHDN for validation, either through the MyInvois Portal for one-off entries or automatically through accounting software connected by API for regular volumes.

Malaysians write this two ways. E-invoice and e-invois are the same thing, and LHDN uses both in its own material. This page uses the English spelling throughout.

Once LHDN validates an invoice, it becomes the official record of that transaction. A regular PDF invoice or a plain receipt, however well formatted, does not carry the same standing once a business falls under the mandate.

Google Workspace, in particular, is a recurring monthly or annual cost that most businesses need a compliant record for.

Where the paperwork lands when you buy direct

When a Malaysian business subscribes to Google Workspace straight from Google, the supplier on the contract is Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. in Singapore. Google prices and bills in Ringgit and charges the 8% SST, so the money side is ordinary. What changes is the paperwork, because LHDN does not require a supplier outside Malaysia to issue a Malaysian e-invoice.
